This February half term Archaeodiscovery ran a two-day archaeology club for children aged 7-12 yrs.
Participants worked with experienced professional archaeologists, DIGGING, MAKING and DOING.
The dig school was a two-day adventure in archaeology, where children experimented with a range of archaeological techniques. Emphasis was given to exploring ideas practically, using inspiring materials and looking at the processes of contemporary archaeologists working today.
Through a mixture of structured and open-ended activities we explored
the Stone Age and Ancient Egypt.
And of course there was lots of digging and discovery!
The focus of dig school was on working together, inspiring playfulness and inquisitiveness, through which children can make friends, learn new skills and grow in confidence.
"Oh my word, the kids had the best day! Thank you both so much." - Parent, 2023
